I Did It! (+ Spring Shape Up Challenge)

25 Feb

Well hello there!

If you follow me on Twitter, Instagram, or Facebook, I’m sure you already know this, but…

I finished the half

I finished the Disney Princess Half Marathon!

My final time was 3 hours 8 minutes (almost 9 minutes, ha!) – which was much slower than I was hoping for – but regardless, I did it!

My sister and I were hoping to finish around 2:45. Obviously, that didn’t happen – there were a few “road blocks along the way” – but the fact that we didn’t give up is still something to celebrate. :-)

I can’t wait to share a full recap in the days to come, but it might take me a little while. I have a lot to say and I don’t want to miss anything, so bear with me as I gather my thoughts!

**********

Now that the half is over, I’m looking forward to having some free time to get back into other kinds of fitness that I’ve been neglecting due to lack of time (like spin!).

I’m sure most of you have heard of ChallengeLoop before; many other bloggers have hosted challenges over the past few months.

Well starting on Friday, March 1, I’ll be hosting my own challenge!

This is your invitation to join me in the Spring Shape Up Challenge.

Here are the details/rules:

With spring and summer are right around the corner, there’s no better time to focus on shaping up. For this challenge, participants should aim to complete 3 workouts per week. Each week, leave a comment on the Spring Shape Up ChallengeLoop page that details the workouts you’ve completed. At the end of the challenge, I’ll select a winner from those who commented with their workouts each week.

The official hashtag for this challenge is #springshapeup and the challenge will run from 3/1/13 to 3/31/13.

So what’s in it for you? If you enter in your 3 workouts every week during the challenge, you’ll be entered to win a $50 gift card to Lululemon. Pretty sweet, right?! Especially since I know a lot of you easily complete 3 workouts per week!

I’d love for you to join me in the Spring Shape Up Challenge, and you can do so by signing up here.

**********

I’ll chat with you all more tomorrow! I’m still working on catching up on sleep from Sunday’s 2:00AM wake-up call. (Thank goodness I have one more day off of work!)
