Zella Day of Movement
6 May
Hi there.
How was everyone’s weekend? Mine was actually pretty relaxing, & although I’m sad to see it come to an end, I’m anxious to get another week started & be one step closer to summer vacation!
Tonight, I wanted to take some time to share with you all about the event I participated in yesterday – the Zella Day of Movement, which was held at various Nordstrom locations throughout the country. (I attended the event at King of Prussia mall.)
Zella is a brand of fitness/activewear sold at Nordstrom, & this was the second-annual event held by the company & department store.
My sister & I arrived at the mall around 8:45AM; the event was scheduled to begin at 9:00AM. We were greeted by the friendly staff at Nordstrom, & taken to the area where the (free!) fitness class would be held, which was just outside of the department store entrance.

My sister & I were excited to find out that the class would be a cardio barre class. Our instructor for the morning, Christina, owner of Ploome in Philadelphia, chatted with us & other attendees before the class got started.
I had never taken a cardio barre class & man am I feeling it today. It was quite challenging & I really worked up a sweat – more than I was anticipating when I planned to work out in a mall! It was amazing how intense of a workout we got with a folding chair as our only piece of equipment.

For any local readers who are looking to change up their fitness routine, I would highly recommend looking into the various classes available at Ploome. I only wish I lived a bit closer to the city so I could try out another one of Christina’s classes!
After the workout session, we headed up to the activewear department & did a little shopping.
I was very impressed with all the different Zella pieces. (You can do some online shopping for yourself here!)
I had been wanting a “workout skirt” for a while, so I decided I’d make the Zella “Wrapped Up” Running Skirt my “investment” for the day. Trust me, there were tons of other items that caught my eye & I would have loved to add to my wardrobe! While the clothes are a little pricey (coming from someone who loves C9 brand at Target!) I can already tell that the high-quality will be worth the cost.
As a gift for attending the event & spending a minimum of $40 on Zella gear, I was given a free gift – a Zella “Z T 3″ Tee. I was excited to find out that this was the freebie, as I already had my eye on the cute, ruched t-shirt! I tried this on when I got home & deemed it appropriate for the gym or even just casual weekend wear!
I had such a fun time yesterday morning that it almost makes up for how sore I am today!
I got to try out a new type of class & shop for new clothes – a successful Saturday morning in my book!
Have you ever tried a barre-style workout?
What’s your favorite brand of workout clothes? Do you own any Zella items?

I’m so glad that you had fun. I wish I could have been there!! I just looked up Ploome, and unfortunately it looks like it is a hike from my office in Philly, too. It sounds like a great, fun workout! We will have to plan something soon!

You should try to make the hike to try a class! It was intense!
Yay! Glad you had fun! Love the skirt!!
I’ve actually never heard of Zella. Sounds like they are a bit similar to Lululemon and Lucy? I’ll have to check out the website. Looks like it was a cool event – I’m jealous!

I’m not familiar with Lucy, but yes it is similar to Lululemon!
That class sounds like a ton of fun! I wish we would’ve had an actual event here in STL. I would’ve loved to take a free class and gotten one of those cute t’s. I did go to our store and check it the clothes. They are cute and I also see them as an investment.
Glad you picked up the skirt. It’s adorable!!

Thanks Katie!
Can’t lie- I don’t even know what kind of a workout that is. Geeze, I feel like such a workout loser now. Ha. Cute gear! Finding perfect workout clothes is tough. Once summer gets here, I will live in my workout clothes for the most part and only wish I could find some to fit the lovely bump.
YAY for summer being in sight!

haha you’re not a workout loser!
Barre classes are based around ballet! This was a cardio barre class so it was kicked up a notch!
That sounds like a great experience! I’ve never taken a barre class but I used to be a dancer so I’m sure I would love it. And Zella workout clothes are so cute! That skirt and top look awesome. Glad you had a great time <3

Ahh what a fun event! I have never heard of this brand, but I will definitely check it out next time I am at Nordstrom! I have never tried abate class, but I want to so bad. My friend teaches Pure Barre and absolutely loves it!

I did try a barre-style workout once, but Zella’s totally new to me.

I buy almost all my workout clothes at outlets or Marshall’s, so end up with a lot of Nike and Under Armour. I would love some girly Lululemon, and I hear it’s worth the cost, but I just can’t make myself spend the money.

Seriously! I was SOOO sore yesterday & I’m only slightly better today!
I love that t-shirt. I’ve actually never heard of Zella (probably because we don’t have any Nordstrom’s by us). I love lululemon, but I wish they were cheaper! Nike dryfit is great too (and more reasonable – especially when shopping at TJ Maxx

Those clothes are really cute! I love the skirt! My favorite brand of workout clothes are Under Armour but since they are pricey I usually stick with the C9 from Target too : )
