Working OUTdoors
8 Mar
If you live in the northeast, chances are you experienced some pretty exceptional March weather today!
When I heard the weather folks calling for 70* weather, I asked Chris if he wanted to plan a run together.
Thursdays (along with Tuesdays) are normally my “BodyPump days,” but it felt good to switch up my routine, get outside, enjoy the warmth, & exercise with my husband.
We ran around our apartment complex & throughout an adjoining neighborhood. We used this as an opportunity to “house shop” as well, pointing out different properties that we liked (& didn’t like!) along the way.
Once we were done with our workout, we took the pug for a nice, long walk, which he loved!
Speaking of the pug… I just have to share this photo Chris snapped of the two of us last night. I look completely ridiculous (my eyes are half-closed!) but the pug looks too cute & I have no shame…
Almost every night, Stewie jumps at me while I’m blogging at the computer & he absolutely loves when I sit him on my lap like this. It certainly gives new meaning to Tina’s Blog Dogs series!
Back to today… after we had worked up an appetite, we returned back to the apartment & I got to work on one of my favorite dinners:
I made Cheeseburger Skillet Pie for the first time back in October & have loved it ever since!
This recipe requires very few ingredients & minimal dishes (which equals minimum clean-up, too!).
I enjoyed this serving x2!
Before I head out for the evening, I wanted to quickly run down some goals for the month of March. I did the same for December, January, & February & want to continue since it helps to keep me accountable.
1) Eat more vegetables – This is the food group that I could really stand to get more of!
2) Drink more water – I mentioned how important drinking water is in a previous post, but I know I don’t drink nearly enough.
3) Get more creative in the kitchen – I usually rely solely on recipes created by others, but I’m making an effort to try out some of my own meal ideas this month!
I feel like there’s one more that I’m forgetting, but oh well; it’s been a long week!
Do you prefer to workout inside or outside?

I’m a fan of the outdoors for sure! Today was too cold to workout outside and it made me feel like such a bum- but I was just not in the mood to run in 38* weather today- especially with the cold wind. But, I do love to hear the birdies chirp and see the beautiful clouds in the sky!
Ooooh, house shopping while working out- talk about multi-tasking!

We both enjoyed working out outside today! I absolutely loved it. Oh, and I tried Picasa today–it’s amazing!

Yay! I’m glad you like it. Once I can’t use Picnik anymore, I’ll have to get more familiar with it!
I love working out outdoors when the weather is nice. I am trying to take advantage of the TX spring before summer heat and humidity strikes and I will try to spend as little time outside of my house as possible.

There’s a very small window of time before the heat gets overwhelming… even here in PA!
I like running outside better… I run faster and the time goes by faster. Love the pic of the pug!

Love, love, love the blog dog! Mine lays next to me, but is way too big (ummm 85 pounds) to get on my lap…though I think he’d love to try. Enjoy the warm weather!

I love the outdoors when the weather isn’t 100+ degrees in AZ
Right now it is nice 77, so I’m doing my best to soak it up before it gets too hot!
I love the picture of you pug; he is just a little potato!

Ahhh 77 sounds perfect!
haha yes, he is!
I’m loving this nice weather!! I much prefer running outside versus inside however I prefer “ideal” conditions – not to hot and not to cold : )
Aww that picture is so lovely! I am loving this weather too
Well I enjoyed it yesterday- now it’s down in the 40s again! Urghh

Same here! It was cold Friday & today, but it looks like it will be warming up again!
I much prefer working out outdoors, but we are backwards here in Louisiana (in more ways than one!). Summer is entirely too hot and humid to run outside, so soon I will have to retreat to a treadmill.

I really enjoy working out outside when I am playing a sport like soccer, tennis, etc. Oh, and running is so much better outside than on a treadmill!

i really do LOVE running outdoors and being outside in general, so for the most part i prefer outdoors. it is nice to be in a gym setting when i’m doing strength training for the motivation and equipment though.

Can I borrow Stewie, please?! I need pug kisses!
I love running outside–but I love watching awful reality TV on the treadmill more–I am so lame!

After the beautiful weather we’ve had this week today felt COLD and windy! I am looking forward to Spring!

I love that your dog’s name is Stewie. He’s a doll!
Your goal of eating more veggies is a good one. That’s definitely something I’m working on these days, as well. I’d have to say one of my goals for the month is to work on menu planning. I’d be so happy if I could do it every week this month!

Running outside for sure! I’m in the midwest and we have the most amazing 50 degree sunny weather today! You can bet I’ll be getting a run in sometime soon!
Mmmm, that’s a tasty looking pie! I’m doing a half marathon next week so I might make that afterwards…
