Super Bowl Snacks Brought to you by Pinterest
2 Feb
The weekend is almost upon us & some people are particularly pumped for this Sunday due to a little thing called the Super Bowl. Me? I couldn’t really care less about the “big game,” especially since it’s overshadowing the real holiday to be celebrated on February 5 ::cough::cough::mybirthday.
Even though I’m not the biggest football fan, Chris & I will be attending a Super Bowl get-together hosted by his oldest brother. While the game doesn’t ignite feelings of excitement, the thought of a spread of snacks certainly does!
I want to contribute something to the party, so of course I took to Pinterest for some ideas. (You can follow me on Pinterest here.) I’m still deciding exactly what I want to make, but these ideas were too good not to share!
Savory
Artichoke Dip – from Martha Stewart
A healthified version of the usually indulgent dip! The ingredient list is short & sweet, which is always a huge plus in my book.
Eggplant Appetizer – from Laylita
I love how pretty this appetizer is! It’s the perfect size bite & won’t make a mess. This one has a short ingredient list as well; I’m all about the simplicity!
Burger-Potato Bites from Better Homes & Gardens
Burgers are the perfect “sports-watching food,” & I love this creative spin on the classic burger & fries combo. Probably not the healthiest option, but I’m sure it’s tasty & would definitely be a crowd-pleaser.
Loaded Mashed Potato Casserole from The Girl Who Ate Everything
This is advertised as an Easter side dish, but is there ever a bad time for loaded mashed potatoes? Answer: no!
Pizza Dip from Closet Cooking
Chris’s sister always brings a similar taco dip to their family get-togethers. I love the ease of the layering technique used in this dish & the quick cooking time – only 20 minutes! Plus, I have the perfect Pyrex dish for this that I haven’t had a use for yet.
Sweet
Beer Cheese Cupcakes with Bacon Cheddar Cream Cheese Frosting from Cupcake Project
How cute are these?! And such an original flavor combination! I think these would definitely be a hit with the guys. I want to give these a try, I’m just not sure I’ll have the time before Sunday!
Football Strawberries from Chef in Training
Definitely click the link above; Nikki links to tons of Super Bowl-appropriate recipes. These strawberries just happened to be the one that caught my eye! You can order these treats, pre-made, here, but if you’ve got the time & the skill-set, I say save yourself $44 & make ‘em at home!
Do you look forward to the Super Bowl?
Are you attending any parties?
Which of the above recipes would you most like to try?

The Pizza Dip is definitely something that I would like! I’m not going to any Superbowl parties because B has to work, but I still plan on making some appetizers for the occasion!
I’m looking forward to the game, but I wish the Eagles were playing!!

I saw those strawberries and fell in love! …..Because the husband is a huge football fan and football coach we had football food and items at our reception to make it fun for him. Those strawberries would have rocked at our wedding! LOVE them!!!
