Thanksgiving Desserts: Brought to you by Pinterest

11 Nov

I’ve already professed my love for Pinterest in this post. This evening, I thought I’d share some yummy Thanksgiving dessert recipe ideas I’ve spotted on the website recently!

Pumpkin Dump Cake

A simple recipe including pumpkin, brown sugar, yellow cake mix, & pecans. My mom actually makes another type of “dump cake” recipe (with cherries & pineapple) that’s more fitting for the spring/summer months & it’s delicious, so I’d be curious to see how this compares.

Pumpkin Crunch Cake

Another simple, pumpkin-based recipe, with ingredients that I have on-hand (or am able to get easily). That’s always huge for me – if the ingredients are going to require tons of effort to obtain, I’m out.

Pilgrim Hat Cookies

This is a three-ingredient recipe that would be perfect for a little something sweet after the big Thanksgiving meal. Perfect if you have young kids too; they can help assemble!

Pumpkin Praline Trifle

An unexpected twist on the “go-to” of pumpkin pie!

Chocolate Pecan Tart

I’ve recently come to love pecans, & pecan pie is the ultimate indulgent dessert. Add chocolate to that & what do you get? Heaven.

Apple Cream Cheese Bundt Cake

This looks like it might be a little above my skill-set (even though I love to bake), but it’s probably worth the effort it takes!

Chris & I will be attending both my family’s & his family’s Thanksgivings this year, so I’m thinking I might need to try out one of these recipes for the occasion. Perhaps I’ll start off simple & go with the three-ingredient Pilgrim cookies! ;-)

What do you usually have for dessert on Thanksgiving?

Ah I’m actually on Pinterest right now! Great finds! Those desserts look delicious. Unfortunately, I won’t be able to take part in baking this year as much as usual because of work, but I’m hoping to try some new recipes soon! :)

A bite of everything! …..I’m going to have to get creative for dessert this year- they expect more from me the older I get so the dessert I bring can’t be a flop. I better start practicing on some of these!
