The blog world has been buzzing about Pinterest for quite some time now. I think I first heard about it on Julie’s blog & I finally joined myself back in August.

For those of you who don’t know… Pinterest lets you organize and share all the beautiful things you find on the web. People use pinboards to plan their weddings, decorate their homes, and organize their favorite recipes.”

Essentially, you request an invite, install the “pin it” button & start pinning away on the different pinboards you create. For example, I have boards titled “Looks Yummy,” “Gift Ideas,” & the recently-created “Christmas 2011.” (Yes, I’m talking about Christmas already.)

Since joining Pinterest, I haven’t found myself with much time to spend “pinning,” but I took a minute this afternoon to start browsing through some ideas for Christmas this year.

Here’s a peek at what I added to my “Christmas 2011” board–

This is the first year that I’ll actually be decorating my own space for the holidays. These were a few of my favorite ideas:

I love the idea of doing silver with different shades of green for Christmas decorations!

I loved this idea for its simplicity! I’ve seen containers like this for sale at Target recently, & they could be filled with all sorts of different Christmas items! I’m thinking ornaments would look cute, too!

We have lots of frames that were used on the tables at our wedding. I’m thinking I could create something similar to this, for very little moolah!

I’m definitely not a big DIY-er, but I might be willing to attempt these:

I love all of the bright colors, but I’m not sure Chris would go for this!

Just like the light green/silver combo, I like that the shades in this wreath are a little unexpected!

This one is the epitome of fun & festive! Is it just me, though, or does this seem like it could be a little difficult to assemble? Also, I think I’d tone it down… just a smidge! ;-)

Are you on Pinterest? It’s an awesome site & I only wish I had more time to spend pinning different items!

When do you start decorating for Christmas? I’m thinking I’ll start the weekend after Thanksgiving, or the first week of December!

I love Pinterest! I had known about it but recently set up my own account. I spend way too much time on there haha.

I usually like to start decorating the day after Christmas. Since I just got married though, our condo really doesn’t have too much room to put up a ton of decorations. We’re looking for a house so I’m stockpiling ideas! haha
