The Wedding: Pre-Ceremony
27 Oct
I pretty much squealed for joy today when I opened up the mailbox & found our wedding picture CD waiting for me! These have been long-awaited & were well worth the wait! I’m so, so excited to share everything about our wedding day, & I hope you all enjoy reading these posts as much as I will enjoy writing them. Let’s begin, shall we?
The day started early with hair & makeup appointments, & then some “down-time” back at my parents’ house.
Eventually, it was time to get me into the dress. I purchased my dress at Kleinfelds in New York City, & it was designed by Lazaro (I actually got to meet him the day I picked out the dress!).
As you can see, it took my mom, aunt, & sister to get me into the dress (there were super-tiny buttons).
We had time to snap a few pictures before the limo arrived.
I got a picture with my adorable flower girl (& cousin) Casey, as well as my six bridesmaids. My sister (Corinne), two cousins (Alicia & Rachel), Chris’s sister (Andrea), & two friends (Emily & Sara) made up my side of the bridal party.
Of course, there were many shots with my parents, but this was one of my favorites:
And one last “girls” picture before heading off to the ceremony…
And just for good measure & because I can’t help myself…

The next wedding post will cover our beautiful ceremony!
If you’re married, what month did you get married in? If not, when do you imagine yourself tying the knot? Summer made the most sense for us because I had off of work (although Chris would have loved a fall wedding).

BEAUTIFUL pictures!
I wish I could see your dress in person, it looks beautiful!
We got married in June- in between harvest and planting season. And since the husband and I are both teachers, it worked for us.
Thank you! I love that dress!!! It finally went off to the dry cleaners to get “packed up” this week! :tear:
Oh my gosh, your dress is absolutely GORGEOUS! I remember you mentioning recently getting married and that you were waiting on photos to do a recap, so I’m glad that they finally came
Thank you Brittany!
I love your dress!! It’s so beautiful and unique too. We got married in October. It made the most sense for us because it’s beautiful in Arizona at that time (where we got married), and the Fall is a slower time for my husband’s work.
Thank you! I’m sure Arizona was beautiful in October! Chris would have loved to get married during October, but it would have been so crazy with me taking a week+ off of work!
great pics!! you look beautiful!!! love looking back and remembering the day!
Me too!
You look absolutely stunning! So beautiful!! And Kleinfelds?!!?! SO COOL! Can’t wait to see more!
Thank you! Yes, Kleinfelds! It was so fun! I’m a little sad we don’t get to make any more trips up there.
Until I get married… Haha
Yeah hurry up!
I love love love wedding pictures!!!! What a beautiful dress!
I got married in July, as both my husband and I were in graduate school–it made the most sense. However, I totally wanted a fall wedding!
Pictures are so beautiful! Your dress is so amazing!
Since we didn’t want a traditional wedding, we got married in Jamaica May 1st, 2010 because it wouldn’t be too hot then.
Thank you!
A destination wedding sounds like fun!
You look SO SO beautiful! I love your dress, it looks perfect on you!
Thank you Shannon!!
Gorgeous! I got married in July!
Congrats Amy!
