Not so bad After all
23 Oct
This weekend turned out to be not so bad after all! Yes, I was a little down last night because up until that point my weekend had been dominated by work… not fun! However, today I managed to get most of my to-do list accomplished, & for what didn’t get done… well, there’s always tomorrow, right?
**********
After last night’s Chinese food, I decided it would be a good idea to start today off on a healthier note. And really, what’s a better healthy breakfast than oatmeal?
In the mix:
- 1/2 c. oats
- Chopped apple
- Chia seeds
- Walnuts
- Chocolate chips
- Drizzle of honey
Served alongside a warm mug of Folgers Caramel Drizzle coffee!
After church, I headed to Target & the grocery store for my weekly “stock-up” when I came face-to-face with this:
Thomas’ Cranberry English Muffins!!!
If you haven’t tried these yet, go to your store immediately & pick up a bag for yourself! They are awesome, & are a seasonal item! They’ll be gone as quickly as they arrived, so you can bet I’ll be stock-piling my freezer for the next few weeks!
**********
My parents had been away this weekend, & had picked up a few goodies for me, so they asked if I wanted to go out to dinner. (Chris has been gone all weekend too, but he’s coming home tonight so don’t try to come & kidnap me!
)
We went to Red Robin where I got the prime rib sliders. I didn’t snap a photo, but by the wonder that is Google image search, I can show you someone else’s photo!
My parents had picked me up some cupcakes while they were away, so that’s what was for dessert!
These cupcakes are from JoJo’s Cupcakes and Cream in Easton, MD.
Chocolate, pumpkin, & red velvet!
I went right for the red velvet, & it certainly did not disappoint. I loved the cream cheese frosting. Really, does it get any better than cream cheese frosting?!
Chris better hope he gets home soon; I can’t make any promises there will be a cupcake left for him to sample!
And just because it’s Sunday & we’re gearing up for another week, I’ll leave you with a cute pug pic! This is Stewie’s “lookout.” Notice how he’s too lazy to actually stand, & sort of lays across the arm of the couch!
I know this is next-to-impossible, but… favorite kind of cake? I might just have to go with red velvet!

Glad your weekend shaped up and you got some sweets! —I just got home from school. Work is work- wonder if that is why they call it work
HA! …..Fav cake? Carrot or a deep chocolate!
Oh no; school on a Sunday?! Carrot cake is my mom’s fav!
You’re quite the seasonal girl today! Cranberry english muffins AND a pumpkin/red velvet cupcake!
They both sound delicious!
I cannot say enough good things about those English muffins; it’s sort of sad how much I love them!
I want to say red velvet, too, but I just love cannoli cake!
I’ve never had that, but it sounds fantastic!
HAHAHAHA! Aw SHUCKS, I was going to come and kidnap you!
(totally kidding, just in case you took me seriously 8) )
Thanks for sparing me!
LOVE red velvet cake. But I’d have to say my that’s only my second favorite with cheesecake being #1. Actually, I think my number one would be red velvet cheesecake! All your eats look amazing, especially your oats!
Red velvet cheesecake is awesome! Especially from the Cheesecake Factory! Ok, I want to change my answer now!
Grandma’s Pound Cake is my #1 then call me original but I love me some Birthday cake
.
Me too! With extra sugary frosting please!
I had no idea Cranberry English Muffins even existed! Wow!
Those cupcakes look glorious! I think picking a favorite type of cake is impossible! They are all so yummy! If I had to just choose one, it would probably be vanilla cake with PINK vanilla buttercream AND sprinkles.
They exist & they’re awesome!
It’s a toss up between red velvet and carrot cake for me!
