Sometimes, you just have to do it.
The “dreaded” (?) fast food for dinner, that is.
Generally, I try my best to avoid fast food. I can’t remember the last time I had McDonalds. I ate at Sonic the week of my wedding & felt sick for the rest of the night. Usually, I’m better off avoiding fast food.
However, sometimes, it’s just plain easy.
Last Wednesday, I wasn’t feeling particularly ambitious after the gym, Chris was working with his band, & I was both tired & hungry – a bad combination. So… I caved, but I think I made a smart choice at least?
I decided to go with Chick-fil-A, because I knew they had some relatively healthy options. I had just hit the gym, so I didn’t want to “un-do” all of the hard work I just put in!
I went with the Chargrilled Chicken Garden Salad. I really wanted the Chick-n Strips salad, but thought better of it!
I also asked them to hold the dressing & used my own low-fat (not fat-free!) ranch dressing back at home.
Not too shabby for a quick drive-thru meal!

Confess! How often do you eat fast food? Do you try to go with the healthy options, or go all-out with a burger & fries? Truthfully, I try to only eat at a fast food restaurant occasionally; maybe once a month?





Maybe once every three months or so…. but then again, I live over 40 miles from the nearest form of any fast food, leat alone anything decent to eat!
….Adding your own dressing probably added tons of flavorful goodness to that!
Being 40 miles away would certainly deter me! Unfortunately, I’m about a 2 minute drive!
I splurge on fast food once every few months, and it is usually Chick-fil-A! I love their waffle fries.
Does icecream count as fast food? If so, I probably go too often!
No ice cream can’t possible count!
Otherwise I’m way over 1 time a month!
I love Chick-fil-a too much. I actually drove twenty minutes to get some chicken nuggets from there yesterday. When I got there is when I realized it was sunday… hahah
Ah, craving Chick-fil-A on a Sunday is the worst! I’ve been there!
Of all the fast food places to pick, Chick-Fil-A is the least harmless! I say you did very well
Honestly, I rarely have fast food. I actually rarely eat out, so when I do I like to pick places that I can really enjoy. I’m a huge fan of creating something quick at home
I agree! When I’m going out to eat, I’d much rather pick a nice sit-down restaurant than get fast food!
I have to be honest, I hardly ever ever ever eat fast food. The last time I had a few fries was over the Summer during a night out with friends — it’s just not my kinda’ thing to splurge on!
I very rarely eat fast food. If I do I usually get grilled chicken!
That’s what I usually try to go for too!
That salad looks very not “fast-food.” I am impressed! I probably eat a fast food meal maybe 3 times a year. It is relatively impossible to eat Paleo at a fast food restaurant. However, if Panera is considered fast food, I eat there probably once every 2 months.
I couldn’t believe that! I wouldn’t consider Panera “fast food” in the way that McDonalds is fast food! I was pleasantly surprised it had some of the healthiest options as well!
I never eat fast food, but if someone orders fries I’ll occasionally snactch a few.
That salad doesn’t look bad at all though!
It’s hard to resist a fry every now & then!
I normally dont eat fast food..but that doesn’t mean I don’t secretly crave a Big Mac and Fries. Oops..I guess the cat is out of the bag! xoxo
That salad looks delish! I also like to get their Char-grilled chicken on wheat- yum!
Chick-fil-A is seriously awesome! Even though their char-grilled options are delish, it’s hard to resist the “crispy” items because they are just sooo good!
