Long Overdue
24 Sep
I never got around to posting last night because Chris & I went on a long overdue dinner date. He’s been working so much lately, that’s it’s hard to find a chunk of quality time to spend together. It was another rainy day in PA yesterday, so he didn’t have to work. We decided to take advantage of his day/night off, & headed to The Cheesecake Factory.
The last time I was at The Cheesecake Factory was back in July when I went for my second wedding dress fitting!
Since July, The Cheesecake Factory has rolled out a new Skinnylicious menu. Sadly, I can’t give you a review of any meal items from the menu, because I was not in a “Skinnylicious” kind of mood last night!
Instead, Chris & I went all out! Chris had quite a few gift cards for The Cheesecake Factory, so we certainly enjoyed ourselves.
To start, I had a piece of the delicious bread that’s always served.
I apologize for the photo quality; if you’ve ever been to The Cheesecake Factory before, you know the lighting isn’t the best!
For an appetizer, we ordered the fried macaroni & cheese – “Crispy Crumb Coated Macaroni and Cheese Balls. Served over a Creamy Marinara Sauce.”
These were amazing, although I’m sure it goes without saying they weren’t the healthiest choice! I told Chris you’ve got to go for the fried mac & cheese every once in a while!
For my entree, I ordered the shrimp with angel hair – “Large Shrimp Sautéed with Herbs, Lemon and Garlic Combined with Angel Hair Pasta, Tomato and Fresh Basil.”
The portion was gigantic (like most entrees are at The Cheesecake Factory) & I was pretty stuffed from our appetizer, so I only ate a small portion & brought home a ton for leftovers!
Chris & I got our cheesecake to-go & I went with the ultimate red velvet cake cheesecake – “Moist layers of Red Velvet Cake and our Original Cheesecake covered with our special Cheesecake Factory cream cheese frosting.”
I was so happy to be eating this cheesecake at home, in my sweats, cozied up in bed! What’s better than that?! A certain someone wanted in on the action…
But eventually, he gave up…
Again, sorry for the photo quality; without flash, Stewie blends right in to our bedspread!

Fast forward to this morning, & I was definitely needing a workout after such a rich (but awesome!) meal.
I headed to the gym & completed 45 minutes on the elliptical followed by 15 minutes of incline walking on the treadmill.
I had to make a quick stop at Target on my way home from the gym, & stopped at Starbucks for an iced coffee. (Seriously, whose idea was it to put a Starbucks inside a Target?! Such a double-whammy for my wallet!)
When I made it home, I whipped up some oatmeal & topped the oats with chopped walnuts, mini chocolate chips, chia seeds, & a light drizzle of honey. Simple & delicious!
The rest of my day was spent cleaning, working on stuff for the grad class I’m taking, & laying down; my allergies are still in full-force. Now that it’s after 7:00PM, I figured I better get some things checked off my to-do list & quit being a total waste.
What’s your favorite kind of cheesecake? I’ll be digging in to my leftover red velvet at some point this evening!

Great minds think alike
That’s pretty awesome that we both went to The Cheesecake Factory on the same night. It’s just too bad that we didn’t go to the same one
The bread is PHENOMENAL. Finding out that I was allergic to wheat was the most disappointing when I came to realize that I couldn’t eat it any longer. Noooooooooooooooooooo
My favorite cheesecake is probably one with cookie dough. Not that I’ve ever had such a thing, but it sounds like it would be my favorite
I know! I <3 their bread! The only thing stopping me at one piece was knowing that the fried mac & cheese was coming!
Mmmm cookie dough cheesecake sounds like it would be amazing!
I stumbled upon your blog from Cait’s Plate and had to comment here! I love cheesecake factory’s bread and fried mac and cheese! Yum! I always end up taking home most of my entree too because I fill up on bread and apps.
My favorite cheesecake is the white chocolate raspberry one!
This was my first time trying the fried mac & cheese… so good! I could’ve eaten that as my entree!
I just came across your blog and noticed that you are also from southeastern PA!
I love Cheesecake Factory. How did I never realize that they have a mac & cheese appetizer? They have the best cheesecakes, but we never seem to save room for dessert after eating dinner there!
Yay, I love finding people that are PA residents too! Omg, that appetizer was AMAZING & totally worth the trillion calories I’m sure it contained!
