I hope you all had a nice weekend. Mine was nice, but rainy! Is it too much to ask for a warm, rain/snow-free weekend?! Maybe one of these days!
Chris and I originally planned to go out to dinner on Friday, but when I got home from work, he was still in bed. (He works at night, so he sleeps during the afternoon!) Instead of going out, I decided to pick up take-out at a local Italian place. I had crab stuffed shrimp with spaghetti—which was awesome!—and a cannoli for dessert. (I wish I would have taken a picture!) I think I am officially obsessed with cannolis. They will be my new “thing.”
So although Friday was on the quiet side, we did have a little bit of excitement—our new coffee table arrived!
Yeah, I guess it means that we’re getting old now that coffee tables count as excitement! This was the final piece we were waiting on, and now our living room is 100% complete.
I was up around 7:30AM on Saturday to get in a 3 mile “run” (ha… jog?) before the rain started.
I am running a 5K next Saturday, and I figured I should make sure I can still run that far so that I don’t embarrass myself.
After my run, we went to Panera to pick up breakfast.
I love Panera oatmeal! This was my first time trying their iced coffee and it was delicious. I’m not sure if it tops Dunkin’, but it is definitely a contender.
After showering and getting ready for the day, Chris and I headed off to Bed, Bath, and Beyond. We had a few gift cards from Christmas, and Chris wanted to get black-out curtains for our bedroom. Like I said before, he has to sleep during the day. We have one giant window plus two smaller windows in our bedroom, and lots of sunlight comes in during the day. The blinds we have up just weren’t cutting it, but now it’s nearly pitch black with the curtains.
Afterwards, we stopped by a farmers market to browse the selection of fruits, veggies, and meats. The fruits and veggies weren’t looking so hot, but I picked up flank steak for dinner one night this week.
We also picked up iced coffees before heading to our next stop (Target for curtain rods).
As for today, I went to church this morning, did some cleaning, and went to lunch with my mom and sister. We went to Cheesecake Factory, and I plan to share my meal + the rest of today’s eats in a What I Ate Wednesday post this week. Here’s a little preview:
Time to finish up some laundry, pay some bills, and get ready for the work week ahead! (To be honest, I feel like I could go to bed for the night with how dreary today’s weather has been.)
Iced coffee or hot coffee? Flavored coffee or plain coffee? Cream and sugar or black coffee?
