Sunday Snapshots – 2/9

She’s alive!

I haven’t posted in quite a while, huh?

Not too much has happened over the past few days besides turning 28 and eating junk food on junk food on junk food—yikes! I guess that’s what “birthday weeks” are for, right? Right?!

So, what have I been up to since Tuesday?

On Wednesday, my birthday, my mom and I split a cookie dough donut from Dunkin’’.

I had been dying to try one, and it was pretty good!

After work on Wednesday, Chris picked me up and we went out to dinner. We split calamari for an appetizer, and I enjoyed a strawberry mojito.

I had a salad with chicken for my entree (it may sound boring, but it was delicious!), and we got dessert to go.

I’m not sure if I’ve mentioned this on the blog before—probably not because it’s kind of embarrassing—but Chris and I love to eat in our bed. I understand that it may seem kind of gross—it’s not like we have crumbs everywhere though!—but we love to be comfortable, and let me tell you, there was nothing better than eating this brownie in bed (in sweats!) on my birthday!

Thursday and Friday were pretty standard… nothing out of the ordinary, just working for the weekend!

Saturday morning, I met up with my friend Sara for breakfast. (For any local readers, we went to the Tom Cat Cafe.) And then this happened:

Vanilla cookie crusted, crème brulee stuffed French toast topped with caramel apples

It was as good as it sounds! I’m already planning on taking Chris there for breakfast ASAP!

After breakfast, Chris and I ran our errands for the weekend. Just when you think it isn’t humanly possible for me to consume more sugar…

Boom. And yes, they are really good!

The rest of Saturday and today were pretty low-key. We went out to lunch with Chris’s family, and I had intentions of being “healthy” and just having a salad. Well, I did good until the dessert tray came out. It’s just so easy to give in when everyone’s all like “it’s for your birthday!”. Oh well! ;-)

Does anyone else like to eat in bed? I feel sort of awkward having admitted that, so please, someone else better fess up!

Have you tried the new Oreos? There’s also a marshmallow flavor.

Has anyone consumed more junk food over the past week than me? I already know the answer to this one.

I’ll admit, we had both oreos and the marshmallow ones are INCREDIBLE. The cookie dough ones are good, but kind of tasted like coffee to me. I have heard good things about the donuts though! Great pictures….you deserve the birthday treats! :)

I have heard so many good things about the oreos – I must get my hands on them!!! And I will definitely admit that I used to eat in my bed all the time. When I lived by myself I had this TINY apartment, so the only real seating where I could watch TV was in my bed. Totally awkward and embarrassing, but I’m right there with you girl!

lol we have no excuse as we have a perfectly good kitchen table! Sitting in a chair is not nearly as comfortable as sitting on a mattress and being propped up by pillows though! :-)

I eat in bed every night…especially since my apt. gets cold. I crank my heating mattress pad set up my desk tray, read the paper, catch up on blog reading/e-mails and eat my 2nd dinner (: Every night without fail…look forward to it every day.

You’ve got me beat on the junk food though I’ve been doing some fat free ice cream testing if that counts (:
