We’re back after our quick little weekend away! Chris and I both had a great time at UD, and I’m more nostalgic than every for my college days. Since I need to play “catch up” with a few things around the house, I’ll be keeping my photo commentary brief (or at least I’ll try to!).
On our way down to Delaware, we stopped at a small ice cream “stand”—Bell’s Delites. I went with the dusty road sundae, mostly because Chris had never had one and I wanted to give him a taste.
After a quick hour and 40 minute drive, we arrived at the Courtyard Marriot on campus. Our room was clean and comfortable, and overall, our stay was great.
After freshening up a little bit, we started off on a walk around campus…
My former digs
It was a beautiful day, but we started to get a little hot + hungry, so we ducked into 16 Mile Taphouse for dinner.
Chris’s second beer of the night was noteworthy…
Hell or High Watermelon from 21st Amendment Brewery in San Francisco definitely gets 2 thumbs up—you can really taste the watermelon flavor, which is as amazing as it sounds! (Now, we’re hoping to plan a visit to the restaurant when we head to San Fran later this year!)
This morning, we headed out for a run around campus (something I had been looking forward to), and when we got back to the hotel, we picked up a quick “mini breakfast,” at the cafe. We both needed a little some to tide us over before the main event…
Brunch at Caffe Gelato!
Stuffed French toast (OMG!!!)
Mini gelato sundae (this comes with every brunch… I didn’t request it after having such a big meal, but I definitely didn’t turn it down either!)
Wow is all I can say. Chris and I used to get brunch here when he’d visit me at school, and it was just as amazing as we both remembered it!
Phew, I think that’s all I’ve got! It was definitely an indulgent—but fun!—weekend.
How was your weekend?
Where did you go to college?
Have you ever had Hell or High Watermelon beer before? It’s seasonal, so I recommend seeking it out ASAP!
