Checking In

Hi there! I hope everyone is enjoying their Saturday evenings. To be honest, I’m actually pretty exhausted given that it’s only 8:30PM! Apparently, I’m a 75-year-old trapped in a 25-year-old’s body!

I was up & at the gym relatively early this morning. I completed a quick 45 minutes on the elliptical, then headed back home to get ready for a nail appointment I had this afternoon. Gotta get my Shellac manicure every two weeks! 😉

After I got my nails done, my mom & I headed off to a local craft fair to check out the offerings. I was in the market for a few more Christmas decorations. As is the case with most craft shows (in my opinion, anyway) the stuff for sale was definitely a little more “country” than my taste, but I did pick up this cute little penguin decoration for a mere $5!

Before we had left for the craft fair, I jokingly told my mom we should go get frozen yogurt again, even though we had just been last Sunday! Well after an hour of working up an appetite walking around the crowded fair, we decided some fro yo might not be such a bad idea after all.

In my bowl:

  • Apple pie yogurt
  • Birthday cake yogurt
  • Vanilla yogurt
  • Cookie dough
  • Peanut butter cups
  • Reese’s pieces
  • Rainbow sprinkles
  • Peanut butter sauce

It actually was a very similar mix to what I got last week; why mess with perfection?

I also ended up getting an early Christmas present while we were out – spin shoes! I got a pair that looks just like these:

Spin shoes certainly aren’t the most attractive in footwear, but I’m excited to try them out (my mom let me take them with today!).

After arriving home & taking care of a few mundane chores (laundry, cleaning, etc.), Chris came home from work & I asked him if he wanted to go & pick out our Christmas tree. He was game, so off we went (with pug in tow!).

We ended up with a skinny tree, which is exactly what we needed for our small apartment!

Chris started to put the lights on, but we quickly realized we’ll need an additional string, so the rest of the decorating will have to wait until tomorrow. I’ll be sure to reveal the final “masterpiece” when it’s done!

We decided to keep things simple & order a pizza for dinner. This is pretty much what we do every Saturday, but I’m definitely not complaining since I love pizza!

Chris has been into pepperoni lately, & while it’s definitely not my favorite, I conceded since he usually gives into my request of extra cheese.

I had a slice of pepperoni + mushrooms, and an additional slice of pepperoni. Mmm!

Off to take care of a few more things, then hopefully getting some relaxation in!

What are your favorite pizza toppings?

I think I am also a 75 year old trapped in the body of a 25 year old! haha. I have been back and forth to Philly this weekend for school, and all I want to do is go to bed! I had a similar weekend so far (minus the fro yo unfortunately). I got my first shellac manicure, and I love it! We got pizza last night with green peppers and tomato! :)

You will be addicted to Shellac! I love having my nails painted all the time & not having to deal with touching up chips! :-)

It’s always the perfect time for fro-yo; especially if you are with someone that will enjoy it with! :) I need to find a craft fair soon. I passed up something perfect at the last one and neeeed to find it again!
I love early Christmas presents! You’ve inspired me to tell the husband I want a manicure for Christmas!

I’m excited to try them out! The next chance I get will probably be Wednesday & I’ll definitely let everyone know how they work out. I’ve heard they make a pretty big difference, so we’ll see!
