Friday Favorites, Part 2

Before I get into my “Friday Favorites” let’s have a little Thanksgiving re-cap, shall we?

I only snapped a few pictures at my Aunt & Uncle’s house, but the entire spread was delicious!

My plate included a tasting of turkey, potato filling, cranberry relish, corn, & green bean casserole (with brussel sprouts & bacon). I tried to keep the portions relatively small (keeping yesterday’s mindful-eating strategies in mind) & didn’t go back for seconds since I knew I’d be eating another dinner at Chris’s parent’s house.

The dessert options were plentiful:

I went with a piece of pumpkin pie, a cut-out cookie, a truffle (milk chocolate filled with peanut butter), & a small piece of my contribution…

I made Pumpkin Crunch Cake, using a recipe I found (via Pinterest) on Thepickyapple.com.

I did take a photo of my completed cake, but for some reason it won’t transfer from my camera. Anyway… I cut them into bite-sized pieces & it’s the little square “bite” next to the pumpkin pie in the picture above.

After leaving my family’s get-together, we headed to Chris’s family’s house, & finally returned home around 10:30PM. We were exhausted & headed right to sleep!

This morning, I headed off to a 9:15AM spin class at my gym to counter-act the abundance of food I consumed yesterday. Then, I came home & made this for breakfast:

Oatmeal with 1 tsp. chia seeds, walnuts, semi-sweet chocolate chips & a drizzle of honey.

Doesn’t everyone need chocolate in their breakfast on the morning following the most indulgent day of the year?! No?

After breakfast, I got ready to complete some Black Friday shopping with my mom & sister. I didn’t end up purchasing too much, but it was still fun to go out for a bit!

For my “Friday Favorites” this week, I’m going to share with you all some of the items on my Christmas list this year.

I actually worked on composing my Christmas list this evening, & even created a board on Pinterest filled with my favorite items. Here are a few…

  • The Limited Merino V-Neck Sweater

  • The Limited Cassidy Boot-cut Pant

(source)

  • LOFT Animal Print Henley Blouse

(source)

  • Annie Marlie Dark Brown Flats (The brown flats I currently wear were purchased in 2008 – time for an upgrade!)

(source)

  • Lilly Pulitzer 2012 Agenda

(source)

Additionally, I’m in the market for some spin shoes (suggestions welcome!) & a new camera!

What’s on your Christmas list this year?

The limited has everything 50% off RIGHT NOW!!! Ends today! Go buy them NOW! They won’t be any cheaper- ever! I picked up a bundle of things today from The Limited. They offered me a job there- for real. I had to decline with the full time teaching job already taking up my life and the 3.5 hour drive I’d have to make every day. HAHA!
It must be one of those things today- my pictures won’t transfer from my computer to my file to put on the blog. Weird.
Sorry for the tangents I just had a lot to say. I’ll stop there :)

I heard that The Limited was having a really good sale! Unfortunately, the closest one to me is about 40 minutes away & we weren’t anywhere near there today. Hopefully my mom is still able to get some good deals! :-)

I love animal print, so it’s a winner in my book! I used the same Lilly Pulitzer agenda this year & I loved it, so why mess with a good thing?

Glad I’m not the only one! ;-) And yes, we have to enjoy everything while it’s here! Hence my pumpkin coffee from DD this morning.
